Brentwood is located in the northwest quadrant of Calgary at the base of Nosehill park. It is adjacent to the communities of Dalhousie, Collingwood and Varsity. Brentwood was established in 1960. The area’s sloping topography provides residents with panoramic views. Brentwood is very conveniently located near SAIT, the University of Calgary, and Calgary’s pathway system. The area’s major roadways, Crowchild Trail and John Laurie Boulevard, as well as the LRT, give residents expedient transportation around the city. There are a number of public and separate schools in the area, including Sir Winston High School.
The Brentwood Sportsplex houses the area’s community association. Nosehill Library, Sir Winston Churchill pool and sports centre; in addition, the Sportsplex is easily accessible for families to go skating. The building also houses a mom and tots playgroup, a 55 plus bridge club, and the Brentwood oldtimers hockey team. Outside groups also make use of the centre for activities including fitness classes, martial arts and dancing. Brentwood proudly hosts a popular annual barbeque and works to advocate community concerns regarding development issues.
This area is not only very established, it is also orientated for all ages groups.
