Christie Park Real Estate Listings on Calgary Castles

Strathcona / Christie Park districts are ideally located on the Western side of Calgary in the southwest; the area was annexed from Municipal District of Rockyview in 1956. An elevated plateau allows for exceptional views of Calgary as well as the Elbow and Bow River Valley, which makes this a much sought-after district.  Strathcona / Christie Park area is close to Edworthy Park and Glendale Athletic Park in addition to the outstanding indoor Westside Recreational Center.

The Strathcona / Christie Park community association is very active within the community. The community centre houses the Child’s Garden Preschool, an after-school program, and a variety of courses ranging from karate to Kumon math to exercise classes. The community association has also actively developed specific programmes to target neighbourhood teens; teen dance parties have proved to be extremely popular. There are programmes specifically designed for seniors as well: Tai Chi, Spanish language, watercolour and line dancing classes are examples of these programmes. Special events, such as “stand up comedy” and “improve” nights, and a winter ice sculpture competition have been exceptionally well-received in the community. Strathcona - Christie is also responsive to the changing interests of community residents, so if five (5) residents express an interest in a programme, the community will try to initiate one as soon as possible to meet the demand. Community recreation facilities, such as the hockey and pleasure ice rinks and the soccer field, have proved exceptionally popular.

There are both public and separate schools in the area.
