Coach Hillis a southwest community just off of the Old Banff Coach Road and is situated at the top of what used to be known as Broadcast Hill. The area acquired its name as it is located along Old Banff Coach Road, which was once used by stage coach travelers heading to Banff. Coach Hill was developed in the late 1970's and is comprised of mixed development, including single family detached, townhouses, townhouse condominiums along with apartment-style condominiums. Access to the downtown is quick and easy via the Bow Trail corridor. Due to Coach Hill/Patterson Heights elevation, there are excellent views of the downtown and the mountains. The community centre, located along the Old Banff Coach Road, is surrounded by ample green space complete with a playground, soccer pitches, a baseball diamond and an outdoor rink. The community center is always busy with a variety of programmes including yoga, moms and tots, line dancing, Celtic dancing, Tae Kwon Do, Senior’s bridge, baton classes, Girl Guides and Brownies. The Girl Guides work within the community to maintain garden and green space, as well as help clean up the community. Coach Hill/Patterson Heights shares sports programming with the neighbouring community Strathcona/Christie. Coach Hill/Patterson Heights also organizes a number of special events each year, including a popular Stampede breakfast. This picturesque community offers the homeowner a variety of activities, quick and easy access to the downtown core, and have mini shopping malls scattered amongst the dwellings that are convenient and fit well into the landscaping details. These neighbourhoods are now established and offer a quiet existence amongst a vast variety of amenities.
